Launchy in ActionA friend told me to check out Launchy, which is a cool Open Source tool for Windows that allows you to launch programs, bookmarks, files and more with a few keystrokes.

I’m hooked.

I tried Launchy and I love it! It took me awhile to get it to find everything for me. I think you need to be specific about which folders to tell it to index, but maybe I was just being impatient. It’s very quick and it’s very inobtrusive.

I know what you mean. I think in my case, it was a matter of the software being so simple that I tried to make it harder than it was.

Once I discovered I could hit alt+space, then right-click on Launchy to get to config options, I poked around, made a few changes and was off and ‘launching.’
