WordCamp Portland 2008 in the Works

Looks like WordCamp Portland 2008 is tentatively scheduled for September 27th and Aaron Hockley started a Google Group to discuss it.

Matt Mullenweg announced new WordCamp dates, including WordCamp San Francisco 2008, which is set for Saturday August 16th at the Mission Bay Conference Center.

There’s a new listing of upcoming WordCamps at WordCamp Central.

One that’s not listed is WordCamp Portland, which is taking place this Sunday, May 4th during BarCamp Portland.

CSS Naked Day is April 9th

sewmyheadon.com will strip down and get naked on April 9th in support of CSS Naked Day.

Dustin Diaz created this ‘holiday’ to promote Web Standards by stripping away the presentational (CSS) elements on a site to show semantic markup and good structure.

If you’re running WordPress, you automate your site’s undressing using the CSS Naked Day Plugin by Aja Lapus.

I’ve got a little toning up to do beforehand – off to my workout. :)

WordPress 2.5 Released

WordPress 2.5 was released on March 29th and it includes a host of changes and improvements.

One of my favorite (although widely disputed) changes is the usability overhaul of the admin user interface.
